It all began with an idea…

…create a braver space where folx with intersecting identities can access trauma wise care from providers dedicated to the lifelong work of liberation

Be Abundant is proudly queer owned and operated with a commitment to inclusively serve Indigenous, Black, Brown, Melanated, Asian, Fat, LGBTQIA2S+, Trans, Enby, & Queer folx through:

  • Trauma wise care

  • Accessible seating

  • Books focused on inclusivity offered in our lobby

  • An ongoing commitment to learn, be better, and utilize our own privileges to advocate for change

Our current shortcomings include:

  • A lack of racial and fat size diversity on our staff

  • Our own inherent blind spots and biases that we are not currently aware of and welcome being called to our attention

Our Location is Ground Level at

2031 SE Belmont St, Portland, OR 97214

We first opened in a one room space back in 2019 and have organically grown as we endure through the long standing impacts of the pandemic. Along the way we have shared space with many providers to find ways to move forward together. Currently we are grateful to have found an office space that is owned by a local family who have taken the time to get to know us and believe in what we have created and provide to the communities we serve.

More to Know

  • Most of the providers are small business owners who sublet a private office within the collective. There are a few of us who share use of our treatment rooms. This is why most folx scheduling links are on the direct website for their business.

It is always best to contact your provider directly for anything that is time sensitive as we do not have a centralized phone or email. When you reach out to Be Abundant directly it will eventually be forwarded to the correct provider, but there is a delay since we are only in the office for scheduled appointments.

  • Each business in the collective has their own pricing model in order to support their sustainability needs.

There are a limited number of pay-what-is-sustainable offerings for massage and craniosacral therapy through The Leah Fund, a pay it forward program within Be Abundant. These sessions increase the financial accessibility of these services and we are happy to receive the amount that is sustainable for you. We trust your need.

  • We require masks in order to keep ourselves and the folx we serve as safe as possible. By requiring masks we are able to support many folx who are disabled and immunocompromised or immunosuppressed.

Thank you for doing your part too!

  • Our offices are on the ground floor and there is a small ramp (the height of two stairs) in the shared hallway to reach the restroom, the Fat Closet, and Noor's office.

The ramp is steeper than the current ADA requirements due to an office doorway limiting its length.

The restroom is not ADA accessible as there is not room for a chair to turn around inside. We have installed grab bars and have plans to move the door's placement once we have the funds to do so.

  • The office is accessible via public transit by:

    • TriMet Route 15 eastbound - Stop ID: 406 (SE Belmont & 20th)

    • TriMet Route 15 westbound - Stop ID: 4023 (SE Morrison & 20th)

    • Streetcar A Loop southbound - Stop ID: 13584 (SE MLK & Morrison)

    • Streetcar B Loop northbound - Stop ID: 11484 (SE Grand & Belmont)

    • Closest MAX Station: OMSI/SE Water Ave via the Orange line (about 2 miles away)

  • We have four designated parking spots in the parking lot on the west side of the building we are in. Please use extra caution as the lot is small and the spots are a tight fit.

Street parking is available on Belmont, 20th street, or Morrison. There is often room around the former "coltab" building across from the park.

Collectively we hold these Community Agreements with ourselves and one another:

  • I am committed to the lifelong work to unlearn racism, transphobia, fatphobia, ableism, and all other beliefs taught under oppressive power structures

  • I will treat myself, others, and the space with compassion, respect, and patience

  • I will allow myself and others space to be imperfect

  • I will ask for and accept help when I need it

  • I understand that intent does not equal impact, and both can be true at once

  • I will honor and trust my “no” as well as a “no” from another in order to show up with authenticity in sustainable ways for myself and others

  • I will sit with discomfort, rather than pushing it away

  • I will listen to understand rather than listen to respond

  • I understand that as individuals in a community we all have different strengths, and I will celebrate and uplift those strengths in myself and others

  • I will show up with a sense of curiosity and “I’m intrigued about this…” rather than judgment. When I do not, I will hold grace for myself and others impacted

  • I will strive to fulfill my commitments to self work and clear communication
